Following their 205 run win against Lindisfarne last Monday, the North Hobart Cricket Club Under 17 Girls side went into today's Semi Final against University with confidence.
Batting first at Kangaroo Bay Oval, Ella Marsh (10) and Chelsea Thomas (4) saw the Demons off to a strong start. Following the loss of Marsh and Thomas, Skipper Samantha Roberts 35* (18) and Melodie Armstrong 35* (29) saw the Demons to a competitive total of 4/128 (20).
Despite a strong start from the University batsmen in the run chase, the leading wicket taker for the 2017/18 CTPL U17 Girls Competition, Chelsea Thomas took two early breakthroughs, finishing with outstanding figures of 2/14 (4). Samantha Roberts 1/8 (3) and Maya Armstrong 1/5 (1) provided some great assistance through the middle overs, as University finished all out for 93 (19).
The North Hobart Cricket Club girls will now play against South Hobart Sandy Bay next Sunday in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League U17 Girls Grand Final.
